2000 Saturn SL2 (Turbo)
MY CAR - The beginning
People these days are
idiots. They know nothing about cars, nor what it means to love
cars or be a "car guy". Since the day I started tuning
my Saturn, people pick on me, make fun of me, and say some of the
worst shit ever. Usually they don't even know how a turbocharger
works or even why you need to keep tires inflated to a certain psi.
They think a car with more power is superior, or that a Saturn should
be picked on just because nobody tunes them properly usually. They
are braindead in everyway.
Worst of all, though,
is that people don't understand what a true car enthusiast does.
They don't realize that it's not about having a killer performance
car or super car or even a sports car. It's about taking what you
have and making it better. It's not just about adding power and
the best parts. It's about balance; both for the car AND for the
driver. Most of all, though, it's about passion. It's about being
truly connected to something. Just like marriage, some people get
married 10 times and can never be satisfied. They seek perfection
that doesn't exist. The lucky few find the right partner and stay
with them forever. They get through problems together. They grow
together, and, no matter how imperfect they are, they love each
other. Cars and other things aren't too much different.
My car is far from perfect.
I hate Saturns and think they are mostly shit. However, I love my
car. It is better than any car I've ever driven. I've modified it
to suit me, and we've grown together. No matter what people say,
it's a beautiful car. So, if you don't like it, fuck you. It's not
the best, but no car is. There's always something better. There
is not something better for me, however. So, although I will own
many more cars, I will never get rid of my Saturn. It will be my
car until the day I die. The longer I have it, the more I will build
it, and the better it will become, and so will I.
Saturn
My 1st car is a 2000
Saturn sl2. its a hand-me-down so its automatic
and..well..a saturn. but i love it. its a part of the family now
and sadly my best friend maybe. haha.

Engine
Everything is custom, since nobody makes
an official turbo kit for the Saturn. Most of it is cheap and pulled
together on a budget. I will make it better, but this is how it
currently stands. Turbo is currently running around just 8psi and
spools around 2800rpm from idle and around 2000rpm from cruising
speed. I'm estimating around 200hp at the wheels but probably around
190 with my un-intellegence. can hopefully dyno it sometime in the
near future.
The intercooler was painted black for
a more stealth/sleeper appearence.the back is unpainted in order
to retain optimal cooling efficiency.

Suspension
Drum brakes
were made into discs along with ceramic pads, and drilled/slotted
rotors. Springs were adapted rather than coilovers for a sport suspension.
The rates caused slight oversteer so I purchased a custom spec rear
sway bar to compensate which is 2mm thicker than any other aftermarket
bar. Calculations have it coming out with slight oversteer which
is what I'm more accustomed to.
Wheels are
composed of a lightweight aluminum alloy and tires are a combination.
I have 205/50/16 Kumho ecsta supra 712 Tires for rain and dry weather
and thinner 195/55/15 Pirelli Winter 210 Snowsport Tires to grip
better in winter and cut through snow.
Interior
All of the interior was done by myself (paint,
mounting, etc) with wiring by my brother (his specialty). We put red
neons under the dash and seats and cannot be seen. They go well with
the red lighting accents of the CD player. The latter pics are with
the Levoc Carbon Fiber E-Brake handle. There is an A/F gauge and an
SAFC-II fuel regulator now under the CD player also with carbon fibre
accents. Carbon fibre trim surrounds some of the dash/consoles as
well.

Exterior
Again all mods were done personally. But
putting wheels on and painting tail lights isnt the hardest set
of tasks. I know i drastically need to lower the car. I've gone
through several mufflers and exhausts and so pics are always changing.
